This policy describes how badcreditloan.ai operates its connection service and what it requires of the lenders and lending partners in its network. It is not a description of any individual lender's underwriting.
We are not a lender
badcreditloan.ai does not lend money, does not make credit decisions, and is not a broker or agent of any lender. We connect consumers to lenders and lending partners who have agreed to receive requests from us. Being connected is not approval.
How requests are routed
When you submit a request, we transmit it in encrypted form to lenders in our network. The order of presentation reflects each lender's stated criteria for the profile you submitted and the amount that lender is willing to pay for such a request. The first participating lender willing to work with you is the one you are connected to. Not every request finds a lender.
Rates and terms in our network
- Annual Percentage Rate: 5.99% to 35.99%, inclusive of interest and fees.
- Minimum repayment period: 91 days.
- Maximum repayment period: 72 months.
- Typical amounts: $200 to $10,000, subject to lender and state limits.
Individual lenders set their own rates and fees within these bounds and must disclose them to you in writing before you sign. See Rates & Fees for worked examples.
State availability
Loan products, maximum amounts, maximum rates, and permitted practices are governed by the law of your state of residence. Some products are unavailable in some states. If you submit a request from a state where the product is prohibited, or where we have no participating lender, you will not be connected and you will be told so.
Tribal lenders
Our network may include lenders owned by or affiliated with sovereign tribal nations. Tribal lenders are subject to tribal law and certain federal laws and may assert immunity from state law, including state rate caps. Their rates and fees may be materially higher than a state-licensed lender's, and they may require disputes to be resolved in a tribal forum. If you are connected to a tribal lender, read its disclosures with that in mind and decline any terms you do not accept.
Renewals, refinancing, and rollovers
Whether a loan may be renewed, refinanced, or rolled over, and on what terms, is determined by the lender and by your state's law, and many states prohibit the practice. Renewing typically means paying fees without reducing principal, which increases the total cost of borrowing. Any lender offering a renewal must disclose its cost to you in writing.
Late payment and non-payment
Missing a payment can result in late fees, returned-payment fees, damage to your credit score, referral to a collection agency, and, depending on the lender and your state, legal action. Contact your lender before a payment is due if you expect to miss it; most have hardship processes that are only available before default.
Collection practices
We do not collect debts and have no involvement in collection. Lenders and any agency they engage are bound by the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and applicable state law, which prohibit harassment, false statements, and unfair practices. If you believe a collector has broken those rules, report it to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and your state attorney general.
Credit reporting
Lenders in our network may report your payment history to national or alternative credit bureaus. On-time payments can help rebuild a damaged file; missed payments will damage it further. Ask any lender whether and to which bureaus it reports before you sign.
Responsible borrowing
Short-term and bad-credit credit is expensive by design. It is intended for a genuine, temporary shortfall and is a poor tool for a recurring one. If you are consistently short each month, borrowing will postpone the problem and enlarge it. Speak to a non-profit credit counsellor first. NFCC-member agencies provide a free budget review.
